Welcome to The
Roxburgh Guest Accommodation
Situated in north Northumberland, our property is in the small seaside resort of Spittal at the mouth of the river Tweed, a short distance from the historic market town of Berwick-on-Tweed and close to the Scottish border.
Spittal boasts one of the finest natural beaches on the spectacular Northumberland coast, part of the area designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) and overlooks the sandy beach and bay, with views of the lighthouse and glimpses of the Holy Island of Lindisfarne and Bamburgh Castle further down the coast.
The location is an ideal base for exploring the unspoilt coastline, picturesque towns and villages, as well as being minutes from the A1 and roughly about an hour’s drive to either Scotland's capital city Edinburgh or the shopping and party city of Newcastle upon Tyne.
Berwick-upon-Tweed also boasts the most northerly railway station on the English rail network. Train services run regularly southbound to Newcastle and stations beyond to London Kings Cross, and northbound into Scotland for Edinburgh, Glasgow and as far as Aberdeen and Inverness.

A great value weekend break
Enjoyed our 2 night stay at the Roxburgh. The room was basic but very clean with a beautiful view of the beach. The breakfasts were excellent and our hosts were superb and very friendly. The location is approximately 30 minutes walk to Berwick with a few small pubs and restaurants nearby. Next time we visit we would book an en suite room. Gordon M - Larkhall, UK

A fabulous find
We had a great time over the two days. We were made very welcome, just like family by Eileen and Jim. This B & B was a fabulous find with off road parking (always a bonus). Fantastic breakfast to start the day. Wonderful stay, would definitely stay again and recommend it to anyone. P Myers - Leeds, UK

Great hosts
Very comfortable accommodation indeed. What makes ones stay so good is Jim and Eileen. They are real lovely and ever so helpful. The sea view was just awesome from our bedroom Peter Pentz - UK

Homely experience in Spittal Guest House
We had a lovely stay in the Roxburgh. We have stayed in 'posher' more high tech places but rarely experienced the welcome and hospitality extended by the owners of the Roxburgh. Eilleen T - Aberdeen, UK
